What is the BCF?

The BioImaging Core Facility (BCF) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Leipzig provides users with a broad portfolio of light microscopes including an atomic force microscope. These can be used autonomously after registration and instruction. Furthermore, a cryostat, a paraffin microtome and a paraffin embedding and pouring station are available. All technical details of the equipment (Equipment) and the respective costs for the use of the equipment or for the performance of work by the staff of the BCF are listed separately (Costs).

Who can use BCF equipment

The BCF is a multi-user unit. Groups from Leipzig University as well as other academic and commercial users can use the BCF equipment or address investigations carried out by the staff of the BCF as a service.

Does the BCF offer the use of the instruments even without experiments?

Yes, this is generally of no problem. BCF offers its high-end equipment together with the necessary training on the instruments given by the staff. The training depends on your individual needs.
